The Cambrian Mountains Initiative is pleased to be able to work with the Brechfa Forest West Wind Farm Community Fund during the period of 2020-2023.
We’ll be engaging with the community to see how we can be of support in this part of the Cambrian Mountains.
We have been working with this beautiful area since 2017 and have achieved the following:
- Held community engagement events in 2018 and 2019
- Included Brechfa and Llanllwni Mountains on the first ever Cambrian Mountains Visitor Map
- Created a promoted walk with local business owner to the summit of Mynydd Llanfihangel Rhos-y-corn
- Submitted a successful application for Dark Sky Discovery Site for Mynydd Llanllwni
- Created a Dark Sky Guide that included Mynydd Llanllwni
- Called with and discussed over the phone with some business
- Organised for travel writer and podcaster to visit Brechfa during her seven-day journey in 2020
- Visited Victoria Parc to discuss ideas and advise
- Created a Pocket Guide to the Cambrian Mountains that included Brechfa Forest, Mynydd Llanllwni and Llanfihangel Rhos-y-corn
- Helped the village shop create a series of postcards
- Helped Victoria Park create a their 2021 calendar
- Included Brechfa Forest in an amazing aerial film of the Cambrian Mountains
- Organised four community stargazing events in Llanpumsaint, Llanllawddog, Brechfa and Maesycrugiau in 2023.
- Held online meetings to plan events and ensure a legacy from the community stargazing events.
